About the Job

  • In collaboration with the supervising physician, the Physician Assistant provides primary health care for acute and chronic diseases and offers preventative medical care through lifestyle changes, risk factor modification and early detection of disease through routine screening. Plans, develops, coordinates and provides health education and counseling in response to client and community needs. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring high quality practice is accountable for her/his practice outcomes. Incorporates the professional dimension of the nurse practitioner role and provides leadership and direction for continued role development.


  • Minimum of two years healthcare experience in a hospital or practice setting preferred. A professional level of knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other Managed Care regulations. Strong ethical beliefs and the ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of confidential information including respect for patient rights, property and privacy. Interpersonal skills in order to relate to patients and employees with all personality types and cultural differences to negotiate effective working relationships and develop positive resolutions to conflicts.

Current Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license Certification and current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
