About the Job

Position Summary:              

Under general supervision of Manager, Chief Technologist (as applicable), and  under the direction of a radiologist, can perform diagnostic radiology and OR  procedures on infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients on designated  areas of the body as requested by a physician.


Ensures that Radiation safety policies are followed and all staff are protected in OR area during fluoro and badges are worn by physicians. 

______ Provides in-service on C-Arms and OR procedures to technologists, students and physicians as needed.   

_______Ensures all Radiographic equipment used in the OR is in excellent working condition and reports all problems to supervisor to initiate service on the equipment. 

_______Responsible to perform specialized c-arm procedures when necessary (ortho) and provides training to technologists as needed on special procedures not commonly done in the OR.  Ensures that other technologist are competent to perform procedures in OR. 

_______Assists Manager with evaluation and selection of equipment for OR. 

_______ Checks aprons  in all areas annually for cracks and documents on list. 

_______ Maintains all fluoro logs in the Operating room department and ensures cases are documented with correct information.

Scheduled Hours

38 hours per week, days.

Education/Experience:          High School Diploma or equivalent

                                                 Successful completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.

                                                 One year working experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.


Certification/License:            American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible; renewed annually

Massachusetts State License; renewed bi-annually

Basic Life Support (BLS); renewed bi-annually
