This is a twelve month Advanced Practice Provider post graduate fellowship program focused on intense Critical Care evidence based didactic and clinical education. The program is ideal for a PA/ACNP graduate seeking a structured educational program with the goal of transitioning from student to a skilled and successful Advanced Practice Provider (APP) or for those looking to build more experience in managing complex critically ill patients. Building upon the APP’s medical education, this fellowship will enable Advanced Practice Providers to become highly functional and essential members of a Critical Care team. Applicants should be highly motivated, confident and patient centric team players who have a strong interest in Critical Care as their chosen profession. Motivated learning with time management and adaptability skills are highly desirable.
The APP Fellow will primarily rotate through medical intensive care units in a tertiary care facility, and have exposure to subspecialties. The APP Fellow will be expected to learn and become proficient in critical care procedures, including, central lines and arterial lines, with the possibility of exposure to additional procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tubes and intubations.
