About the Job
The IBH Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for addressing the ongoing clinical documentation needs and requirements of all disciplines with the goal of enhancing patient care, streamlining processes, and improving upon work flows. This position is responsible for the development of clinical documentation in the electronic health record which meets regulatory requirements. As the only Credentialed Trainer for IBH, this position is responsible for the development of all training materials related to the electronic health record and working with the Educators in training staff and ensuring staff understanding through ongoing auditing of documentation.
? Responsible for ensuring clinical documentation development in the EHR meets regulatory requirements and key member of team during regulatory visits who guides regulators through EHR and/or prepares staff to be proficient in same.
? Responsible for the development of streamlined clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). ? Identifies areas within the EHR in need of improvement and submits new development with the goal of improving quality and enhancing work flows for all disciplines.
? Effectively communicates updates and changes within the EHR to all disciplines.
? EPIC Credentialed Trainer responsible for training all disciplines including orientation and ongoing training related to upgrades, new content, etc. Also develops training materials to provide for the Educators as needed.
? Responsible for reviewing and revising policies related to clinical documentation in the EHR.
? Responsible for updating/communicating/training EHR clinical documentation downtime processes.
? Active member representing inpatient behavioral health in all Beverly Hospital and Lahey Health nursing informatics work groups.

? Credential and licensure requirements
? Specialized or technical skills required, including computer applications proficiency (e.g. Basic Excel, Intermediate Word, and knowledge of electronic medical records) ? Other skills, knowledge, and abilities required to do the job
? Amount of directly related experience required ? Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
? BSN preferred
? 2 yrs prior mental health nursing experience required
? Knowledge of all inpatient behavioral health/partial hospitalization program work flows
? Prior educational experience / knowledge of adult learning processes
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Excellent computer skills (EPIC, Biopoint, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
