About the Job
Position Summary:
The Laboratory Associate provides services as part of the patient care team. Primary responsibilities involve all aspects of specimen collection including registration, order entry, processing, packaging, preparation and transport of specimens. Performs age appropriate phlebotomy procedures on neonatal, pediatric, adult and/or geriatric patients. Assumes responsibility for compliance with all State, Federal, Hospital and Laboratory policies and procedures. Requires strict adherence to quality control guidelines to ensure the integrity of laboratory specimens and accuracy of results. Assumes responsibility for supply ordering and inventory control. Acts as a liaison between customers and the laboratory to ensure customer satisfaction with laboratory services by answering inquiries/resolving problems and relaying results.
Scheduled Hours
36 hours per week, days. This position is located at Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent; successful completion of approved phlebotomy program; completion of a phlebotomy internship; 1 year experience.
Certification/License:
Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
Basic Life Support Certification required within 90 days of hire.
