About the Job
Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Operations Manager and Medical Director, this position provides administrative and technical leadership as well as overall management for the Specimen Processing section; this includes instrument and test selection, preparation and review of policies and procedures, personnel hiring, training, and evaluation, staff development and competency assessment and budget developing and monitoring. The manager participates in the overall managerial and operational functions necessary to ensure fulfillment of the department mission. Coverage includes occasional weekends and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Baccalaureate degree including laboratory internship at an institution certified by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry for Medical Laboratory personnel or by American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Medical Laboratory personnel.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Experience: Five years full-time experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred. Experience should include 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
