About the Job
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Beverly Site Access Manager and Supervisor, performs functions which
include accepting phone calls from physicians, offices, and hospital ancillary areas to facilitate bed
placement of patients, maintaining an up-to-date bed board on-line, attending daily bed meetings
with Nursing has the appropriate staffing for upcoming shifts, determining when the floors have
reached a high census and notifying the Beverly Access Site Supervisor/Manager/Director of
Access Services. Trains new employees on the Epic on-line bed board and bed placement of patients.
This position also alternates with the Access Representative functions which include greeting patients,
assisting family members of patients, paging security, registering patients, verifying insurances for
eligibility and benefits, and obtaining authorizations or pre-certifications, when needed. Accepts
sick calls during the assigned shift the Bed Coordinator is working, make calls and attempts to find coverage.
Observes all health and safety requirements. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree in Business, high school diploma or equivalent years of experience in a professional setting
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Working experience with medical terminology; appropriate English usage; excellent phone skills and working with customers in person
Experience: Previous experience in a medical office; performing medical scheduling, or registration with medical software; even temperament; ability to handle stressful situations. Physical guidelines include ability to: walk and sit for extended periods of time; carry up to 10 pounds; push, kneel, crouch, reach, use computer; speak clearly, hear normal range of sounds; identify colors; see within normal corrected limits; drive (or get transportation). Working conditions include: standard office equipment.
