About the Job

The Patient Financial Navigator supports Patient Access and both Hospital and Professional Billing areas. This crucial team member acts as a liaison for patients to the health system; providing guidance and support for all financial components of healthcare.

The Patient Financial Navigator assists patients with billing concerns and questions, insurance options and benefits, gaps in coverage, and payment options. The Patient Financial Navigator may review and explain patient statements, payment plans, pricing estimates, and financial assistance options including Federal/State benefits and the managed care process.

 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Required Experience:

·       Excellent customer service

·       2-3 years experience in a Financial Counseling, Social Work, Case Work, Patient Access or Billing field preferred and a general understanding of hospital and professional billing procedures. 

·       EPIC system experience preferred

Preferred Licensure, Certification & Registration: 

·       Maintains annual Certified Application Counselor certification for the state of Massachusetts

·       CAC Certification preferred. CPC Certification a plus.
