About the Job

Job Summary

As a leader on Caregiver Resilience and Wellness Team, and key member of the Spiritual Care Services Department, the Wellbeing Specialist will work directly with healthcare workers to establish compassionate rapport and assess effective strategies and approaches for support, both in the moment and through broader initiatives.



  • Develop on-going unit based debriefing support to reduce levels of stress and give voice to the difficult nature and empathic strain of working on the front lines of healthcare
  • Be present on units, working alongside staff with availability for on the spot informal support, while also sharing coping strategies, self-awareness / compassion techniques, and resilience tools
  • Work collaboratively with wellbeing specialists, spiritual care providers, and leadership from all disciplines and departments to develop support structures and initiatives
  • Work collaboratively in the design and promotion of opportunities that teach and cultivate wellness and stress management in the workplace

Scheduled Hours

24 hours per week, day shift.

  • Graduate degree preferred in the helping professions focused in acute healthcare setting including Social Work, Spiritual Care, or other specialties
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a hospital setting
  • Experience and skills facilitating debriefing and support groups
  • Experience and skills offering supportive listening and validation
  • Experience working in stressful circumstances to provide compassionate care for colleagues
  • Availability to work occasional flexible hours, including evening and weekend as needed
