You will be a valued member of our care delivery team that is responsible for providing high-quality, safe clinical care. Our outpatient department serves a diverse Neurology population and is comprised of many specialty services and clinics (Neuromuscular disorders, Sleep, Cognitive, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain tumor, Stroke, and more). Our collaborative team is comprised of nurses, doctors, advanced practitioners, medical assistants and secretaries which provides a unique team-based learning environment.

For this position, we are looking for a nurse who will specialize in providing care within our Multiple Sclerosis Center. There are opportunities to be involved throughout the spectrum of care for MS patients. The MS Nurse would assist in appropriate triage of patients referred to the MS center. There are opportunities for patient education regarding the disease and treatment, facilitating an MS support group, and other patient outreach opportunities. For established patients there will be assistance and initial triage of patient calls. Population monitoring and interventions for treated patients will be another key role the MS Nurse.  The MS Nurse will have numerous opportunities to impact patient care and outcomes to prevent disability. MS certified specialist (MSCS) is preferred but not required to start. If not already certified the MS Center will support the applicant in pursuing this and other opportunities for professional development.  

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

  • BSN required
  • Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
  • BLS certification with American Heart Association

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge to provide care for patients according to Nursing Policy & Procedures
  • Demonstrates the necessary clinical skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to the clinic specific competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of related in-patient or outpatient Nursing Experience strongly preferred
