About the Job
The newly created Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine seeks two full-time board certified/eligible palliative medicine physicians to join our expanding interdisciplinary team. Clinical services currently include inpatient consultations within the 355-bed tertiary medical center which is a Tufts University School of Medicine teaching hospital; more than 1,000 consults were completed in the last year with referrals from oncology, surgical services, intensive care units, neurology and the emergency department. Clinic-based services are provided in the Lahey Health Cancer Institute.
The Division plans to develop a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program, clinic services for individuals with non-oncology serious illnesses and other collaborative clinical and quality improvement initiatives with colleagues in the medical center.
The ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for clinical palliative medicine and interest in medical education. The Division’s commitment is to support candidates’ professional development through matching their interests with available clinical, educational and other academic opportunities.
Candidates must have completed hospice and palliative medicine fellowship training by hire date, or demonstrate other comparable experience. Opportunity for an academic appointment with Tufts University School of Medicine commensurate with level of achievement.
