About the Job

The IS Trainer and Informatics Specialist applies knowledge of healthcare and informatics to assist in development and ongoing modification of computerized healthcare systems. Develops education and training of the EMR product

Part time - 20 hour day position

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Analyzes problematic issues, tests potential solutions, and promotes resolution.
  • Develops and revises as necessary all clinical education related to the EMR.
  • Provides ongoing support to staff on issues related to documentation in the EMR and home health regulatory requirements that govern documentation standards.
  • Provides EMR training in the office and in the community with home visits as required by individual circumstances.
  • Works collaboratively with the Epic team to coordinate implementation and ongoing education.
  • Advises Epic analysts on improvements needed for clinical home health workflows.

Education:

  • Registered Nurse or Physical Therapist from an accredited nursing or physical therapy program required; BSN or DPT preferred

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

  • Registered Nurse or Physical Therapist licensed in the state of Mass  required.
  • Credentialed in EPIC

Experience:

  • Minimum three years certified home health experience required, including proficiency in OASIS documentation 
  • Prior experience in an education role with clinical staff using EPIC preferred       

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to apply adult learning principles in education programs
  • Extensive computer skills and proficiency with multiple software programs
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations in home care
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Team player
