About the Job

Position Summary: The Residency Program Coordinator will have responsibility for the coordination and daily operation of one or more departmental Residency Programs. Will work closely with the Medical Education Department and the Program Director to ensure program compliance with the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) guidelines and policies. As a member of the Medical Education Department team, will be required to provide support to any of the Medical Education service areas as deemed necessary by the Chairman of the Education Dept., Senior VP and/or Administrative Director of Medical Education.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Position Specific Functions · Demonstrate knowledgeable of ACGME protocol and requirements. · Maintain appropriate documentation in files for reaccredidation review. · Responsible for the coordination of all ACGME Program PIF’s (Program Information Forms) and related duties for site visits · Coordinates recruiting activities including maintenance of ERAS and NRMP databases. · Maintain residency program and trainee records as required by the ACGME including preparation of reports, annual surveys, submission of trainee evaluations to specified accrediting Boards. · Under the direction of the Chief Resident, develop on-call and rotation schedules consistent with training requirements and institutional policy and communicate scheduling information as required. · Assist Program Director in the upkeep of resident evaluations, duty hour documentation, conference attendance records, and procedure logs as required. · Assists Education Dept. in the annual orientation and graduation of residents. · Provide administrative support to Program Director and Chief Resident. · Responsible for carrying out all duties related to the day-to-day operation of the office including answering telephones, e-mail communications, ordering supplies, copying, distributing information, etc. · Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Medical Education, provide administrative support to other Medical Education Department services when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent work related experience.

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Must be able to type and be comfortable using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and learning new computer programs, and have demonstrated a high level of interpersonal skills.

Experience: At least 2 years experience working in a health care and/or hospital environment required. Prior experience in managing a residency program preferred or previous administrative experience in health care environment and a demonstrated willingness to learn new responsibilities. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
