About the Job

Position Summary: The Simulation Technology Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations in the sim lab and execution of courses including delegating to Simulation Support Technician and Simulation Technology Specialist.

Responsible for organizing and facilitating the execution of realistic highly complex clinical scenarios using sophisticated high and low fidelity simulation equipment and software. Assist faculty from all clinical areas in running a simulation session by operating equipment necessary to produce the scenario or educational session if needed. Serves as faculty for educational programs that are within the scope of professional practice for this position. Oversees the technical competencies of the Simulation Technology Specialists and provides guidance and instruction where necessary.

The Simulation Technology Supervisor is also responsible for the administrative tasks in the department such as meeting organization and minutes, data base management and entry,


Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to


  1. Supervises the operation of the learning management video recording equipment and human patient simulator (HPS) for simulation scenarios, educational sessions and demonstrations.
  2. Supervises the preparation of simulators and organization (or obtains) necessary supplies and props for simulation scenarios.
  3. Provide orientation for faculty on new equipment or equipment that is unfamiliar to them.
  4. Serves as faculty for professional development programs within the scope of practice
  5. Attend department meetings and provide minutes after the meeting
  6. Perform data entry and compilation for simulation course evaluations, utilization reports and database entry for research projects.
  7. Coordinate and organizes small projects within the department
  8. Supervises the Simulation department staff’s daily work activities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Tracks staff work, projects, deliverables, and makes sure that the work is delivered on time, and accurate.

Minimum Qualifications:



BS or higher in a healthcare profession

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

BLS & ACLS Instructor


Two years in a healthcare. Leadership experience preferred.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Clinical knowledge of disease states and medical terminology.

Understanding of basic audio-visual technology including recording

Competent in the use of Microsoft Word & Excel

Good teamwork and communication skills
