About the Job

Provides comprehensive assistance to colleagues including: assessment, information and referral, follow-up, short-term problem resolution, motivational counseling, in-house marketing to staff, consultations and training programs for a wide range of concerns. Provides confidential counseling, support, crisis intervention and other work-life services to individuals and groups.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Conducts psychosocial assessments, time limited counseling, helping colleagues define goals, plan action and gain insight.
  • Provides critical incident, debriefing and grief support for individuals and groups.
  • Requires expertise in substance abuse, domestic abuse, grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation. 
  • Consult, train, and assist leaders regarding management of behavioral health concerns.
  • Works collaboratively with support services such as employee health, clergy, and wellness-related committees.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and develops referral relationships with local behavioral health and substance abuse providers
  • Assists with department events and operations
  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities
  • Participates in program promotion, health and wellness activities and contributes to organization’s culture of safety
  • Performs timely follow up with colleagues
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSW, LICSW, or LCSW degree required or equivalent counseling degree
  • Experience in providing social work services in health care environment preferred
  • Experience in facilitating therapy and psycho educational groups
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of health care operations preferred
  • May require occasional weekend or evening work based on colleague needs
  • Technically astute with strong working knowledge of standard office applications and computer operations
  • Ability to work independently
