About the Job

Beth Israel Lahey Health is recruiting for a dosimetrist to join our group in the health system’s Lahey division.  Beth Israel Lahey Health is a non-profit health system with many locations in the metro Boston area, with a physician governance model and a commitment to providing high-quality care close to home.  The Lahey division’s physics & dosimetry team consists of 6 physicists, 7 dosimetrists, 1 physicist assistant and 1 engineer, working collaboratively to cover 3 radiation oncology clinics within a 20-minute drive of each other.

This position will share coverage responsibilities at our main hospital location in Burlington, MA and at our outpatient center in Peabody, MA.  The Burlington location provides a full range of radiation oncology services with Varian accelerators, GammaMed HDR and an IORT system.  Treatment planning is performed in Eclipse, which is fully integrated with Aria and contains a full complement of licensed modules and calculation servers, as well as a Velocity Grid system for multi-modality dose accumulation and deformable registration. The Peabody center provides a full range of external-beam services (including SRS) with Varian accelerators as well as a limited HDR service, and shares the same Eclipse-Aria-Velocity environment.    We actively work to keep our treatment planning process and methods current, with a comprehensive set of dose objectives, BED guidelines for re-irradiation, and extensive use of structure templates, clinical protocols and standardized reporting tools.

Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) status is preferred, but we will consider exam-eligible candidates.  The chosen candidate must achieve CMD status within 3 years of hire.  Preference will be given to candidates with 3 years or more work experience, but recent graduates of accredited dosimetry programs are encouraged to apply and will be given serious consideration.
