About the Job

Under the general direction of the Director of Nursing Excellence provides quality, safety, patient experience and informatics support for the planning, implementation, and coordination of both the assigned service line and the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. This position will work closely with leadership and frontline colleagues to support the transformation and translation of evidence based, safe care through the use of data. The Data Management Coordinator collects healthcare data to aid in the development of performance dashboards, balanced scorecards, and ad-hoc reports. The Data Management Coordinator serves as the subject matter expert of the data repositories available within the organization by obtaining an in-depth understanding the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), MHA Patient Care Link, Vizient, Excel, Press Ganey and Prevalence Day.  The Data Management Coordinator acts as the operational owner for nursing specific metrics, utilizing data to support, manage, and sustain both operational and improvement activities within the department as assigned.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: 

  1. Utilize applications to provide and apply quality assurance processes for data submissions prior to transmission to business partners. 

  2. Apply sound data collection and data management practices in order to support operational programs and improvement projects within the Division of Nursing.  . 

  3. Analyze data, including monthly key performance indicators, and identify early trends that illustrate opportunities to implement process improvement initiatives.

  4. Actively review and suggest improvements to current or planned systems and processes based on your knowledge of healthcare data.

  5. Perform various ad-hoc analyses to drive business decisions across the organization. 

  6. Responsible for identification and analysis of errors/inconsistencies in the data and provides timely resolutions.

  7. Work with operations to resolve any data discrepancy related to user input, user error, or poor source system design.

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Education:  Associate Degree required or Healthcare Certification

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

    • Knowledge: Understands the field of healthcare as a whole. Knowledge of Google’s services such as Docs, Sheets etc. Proficiency in Microsoft office, especially Excel.  

    • Ability: Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with internal and external customers; ability to communicate effectively with co-workers. Able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment. Ability to work as part of a team. Eager to meet or exceed objectives and take on more responsibility. Ability to communicate results to management in a fast paced environment.

    • Skill: Skill in all of the above listed tools and equipment. Excels at research, possess excellent presentation skills.
