About the Job

The BILH ERP Applications Analyst will serve as the primary liaison between Information Technology and the business, ensuring that system functionality meets the needs of users and stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for researching, recommending, and influencing best practice solutions, drawing upon extensive knowledge of ERP applications (HCM, FSM, SCM), integration, and business processes for the respective domain.  


Responsible for overall support and maintenance of our ERP applications to maximize operations including system enhancements upgrades, and system conversions to meet changing business requirements in a dynamic environment Provide consultation to the business staff and leadership teams on the use of our ERP systems and other third party ERP applications and integrations. Ability to analyze and document functional and technical business requirements, evaluate new ERP systems, modules, and processes to meet business needs and services.  This individual will provide mentorship to analysts and other team members through transfer of knowledge.  Additionally, as a senior analyst the ability to partner with senior business level leaders and provide recommendations, supported by experience, that included practical identification of impacts.

The analyst will provide leadership, oversight and structure to ERP projects with the objective to ensure repeatable project success. This role will provide recommendations based on experience and support to the IT ERP Management in the assessment of ERP strategy, as well as development of policies and procedures for ERP systems.  Strong adherence to, and ability to provide leadership and guidance to the team on, all IT service management best practices including but not limited to enterprise change control, environment and release management. The individual in this role will leverage their technical ability to help identify the root cause of potential issues in a timely and efficient manner by using their knowledge and capability of PeopleCode, AppDesigner, SQR, SQL, Workday, ERP 3rd parties, and other technical expertise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Proactively identify opportunities and recommend direction for process improvement by better leveraging delivered ERP functionality; lead, design, and conduct pilots and other proof of concept activities and effectively obtain buy-in for recommended configurations (essential). Research and evaluate alternative solutions for new modules or functional processes to meet changing business demands, and recommend the most efficient and cost effective solutions to key stakeholders and the ERP staff.
  • Meet frequently with business stakeholders and vendors as a key IT representative promoting these relationships,  to continually review key objectives, discuss project pipeline, and build consensus around prioritization of work requests; attend and when required lead project status meetings to review progress and present issues that may affect delivery schedules; help manage expectations, timelines, and deliverables (essential)
  • Ensure that all requests follow the change management process and have a clearly articulated business case (i.e. problem definition, viable options, cost/benefit/risk analysis, etc.) (essential).  Provide guidance and leadership related to these key ITSM procedures.
  • Facilitate and lead sessions to gather and document requirements (functional and technical), identify current business process challenges, and perform fit/gap assessment with the delivered applications (essential)
  • Compile process flows, functional design specifications, test plans, and training materials (essential)
  • Perform, design, lead, and support functional unit testing, system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (essential). Lead ERP application upgrades and new module functionality implementations
  • Provide production support; investigate and troubleshoot system issues in respective domain (FSM, HCM, SCM); identify root causes; determine and document solutions (essential). Ensure on-going maintenance of the ERP Applications in a timely manner.
  • Lead the ERP deliverables when representing IT on projects in respective domain (FSM, SCM, HCM)
  • Including the development and implementation of communication plans for ERP projects using various media to keep stakeholders informed of upcoming system changes and enhancements. Mentor junior team project members in this process.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the BILH Confidentiality policy and all BILH policies.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field.

  • Master’s degree preferred.


Licensure, Certification & Registration:



  • 5-10 years related work experience required.

  • 5+ years experience with progressive responsibility implementing, upgrading, maintaining, and supporting ERP applications in specific domain (HCM, FSM, SCM). Experience with several large scale, full cycle implementations. 

  • Superior knowledge of business processes, capabilities, and configuration options for ERP systems with domain specific knowledge with ability to effectively manage relationships with domain business leaders. 

  • Strong communication skills are essential; must possess the ability to interact with people from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy

  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

  • Strong experience in respective domain including Financials, Supply Chain Management and HR including but not limited to with Multiple Concurrent Jobs, Payroll to General Ledger interface, Payroll, Profile Management, Employee Self-Service, Manager Self-Service, Position Management, Employee Reviews, Candidate Gateway, Talent Acquisition Management, Forms and Approvals Builder

  • Proficiency with SQL, PS/Query, Workday tools for troubleshooting, data validation, and reporting support

  • Proficiency with MS Office and other productivity tools including Excel, Access, Visio, and reporting tools.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of PeopleCode, AppDesigner, SQR, SQL.  Workday experience.

  • Proven experience in ERP query, reporting tools, database systems, and desktop operating systems/software.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations with a keen attention to detail.

  • Exceptional analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues / problems.

  • Experience leading and working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and mentoring.

  • Strong analytical skills, proactive approach and attention to detail.

  • Ability to mentor more junior team members in all aspects of support, delivery, and implementation.

Note: Information Technology (IT) has undertaken a multi-year effort to harmonize IT systems across Beth Israel Lahey Health.  IT staff members may have the opportunity to participate in special projects that span Beth Israel Lahey Health as part of this harmonization effort. This position may be assigned to work on special projects, and other job duties, as needed.
