About the Job
Under the Director of Support Services, the Facility Manager position is responsible for budgeted facilities maintenance staff and associated support staff. The position requires knowledge in facilities management, building systems, and project management. The position requires knowledge of local, state and national building codes, NFPA Standards, The Joint Commission Standards, OSHA, US EPA, etc. The position has budget development and management responsibilities, and accountability for specific cost centers.
This position requires a creative, pro-active and forward thinking facilities management professional to lead and manage the day-to-day maintenance activities guiding both skilled and non-skilled tradespersons, (preventative and corrective) of the physical environment, building automation systems, energy management, design and construction of key facility mechanical system projects as assigned.
Full time, 40 hours per week.

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or similar technical degree is required and Master Degree preferred. The candidate must have extensive knowledge in mechanical, electrical, building systems, construction, budget management and leadership. Candidate must demonstrate experience in leadership responsibilities, effective interpersonal skills, strong written and communication skills, ability to be self-directed, ability to identify stakeholder needs/expectations, understanding of organizational structure and relationships, develop and maintain internal and external relationships, project management skills/experience, ability to negotiate, collaborate, and adhere to legal and regulatory standards. Must have proficient computer skills (word, excel, power point, window based systems). Must also be able to demonstrate organizational skills and must be detail-oriented.
Five to ten years of health care facilities management (maintenance systems) experience, including five years minimum supervisory experience; demonstrated leadership skills and strong customer service skills; through knowledge of utility systems (ideally as defined by The Joint Commission Standards) and hospital equipment in general; good working knowledge of computerized maintenance systems, energy management and building automation systems preferred.
Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager preferred or required within 4 years of employment. Must have completed 2012 edition e-learning or instructional class on the Health Care Facility Code and Life Safety Code 101.
