About the Job
Under the direction of the Perioperative Nurse Manager and with daily accountability to the assigned charge nurse, the Service Leader initiates and supports work efforts that maximize quality, safety and service in their defined specialty service(s) in collaboration with Perioperative leadership and physicians. The Service Leader provides daily in person support, availability, presence, and guidance to all personnel within their defined specialty service(s) team(s) in support of the staff's daily clinical duties. This includes but is not limited to clinical education, clinical expertise, and relief support to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Service Leader demonstrates competencies in providing age-appropriate care and service to patients from the age of birth through adulthood. The Service Leader maintains availability and working status of specialty instruments, implants, and equipment for service(s) assigned."
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Education: BSN Preferred. Knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of an accredited program of professional nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must possess current Commonwealth of Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
Experience: Requires 5 years of perioperative nursing experience necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of unit and department policies and procedures, and to fulfill quality and quantity standards for the job
