About the Job
We are seeking a progressive and innovative physician leader who will help to ensure high quality and value, improve clinician alignment and satisfaction, and lead evidence-based programs, practices and activities. The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) who will best succeed is one who is visible, proactive, a strong communicator and team player who is able to build relationships by engaging peers and colleagues in delivering excellence in clinical care. The position will be part time to allow for maintaining a part time clinical practice either at Beverly Hospital or one of the system’s academic medical centers. This is a wonderful opportunity for a physician who has a minimum of 10 years as a practicing physician and has proven leadership experience as either an officer of the medical staff, chair of committees, leader of a private practice or medical director.

The ACMO is an integral member of the senior leadership team at Beverly Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). Working with the Chief Medical Officer and the other Associate Chief Medical Officer, is responsible for the general oversight and continuous improvement of quality patient care throughout the Organization. Responsibilities include: development and implementation of the Quality / Patient Safety initiatives in consultation with the Senior Management team and the Board of Trustees; working with the Medical Staff President and the Medical Executive Committee on clinical and other matters affecting the Medical Staff and/or the Hospital; oversight of the In-House Physician Programs including the development of performance criteria upon which the programs and physicians are evaluated, clinical quality, patient/physician satisfaction and financial performance; and working with the medical staff and administrative leadership at other BILH entities on affiliation and integration matters.
