About the Job

Position Summary:

Instructors must be certified in Lamaze Childbirth Education and will teach childbirth preparation courses to groups of couples in their last months of pregnancy.  All candidates must have the skills to develop curriculum, be effective teachers, and support childbearing couples toward the goal of informed choice. Must demonstrate clinical competency and provide parents with evidence based information to enable them to make informed decisions. Each instructor must provide an annual written syllabus and outline of their class plans. They may represent the department at public appearances and as guest speakers at public events.

Scheduled Hours

Per diem, hours assinged as needed for evening shift.

BA or BS in education , or health education, or

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least one year of experience providing care to pregnant / pp women.


Lamaze International, ICEA or BACE certification or


RN, IBCLC certified Lactation Consultant or




Certified Licensed Social Worker
