About the Job

Position Summary:

  • Coders analyze patient records and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes based on physician documentation.
  • Coders abstract information that is used to classify patients, define patterns, and collect pertinent data.
  • Required to follow specific guidelines outlined in the American Hospital Association coding Clinic govern'ng the appropriate assignment of codes.
  • Strong understanding of Evaluation and Management code assignment.

Scheduled Hours

40 hours per week, day shift.

Associates/Bachelor degree preferred

  • RHIA & RHIT desired
  • CPC, CCA, CCS (or equivalent) required
  • Experience with ICD-10 and CPT-4 as well as evaluation and management coding.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, clinical medicine and human anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Must have 1+ years coding experience.
