The Surgical ICU (SICU)
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced ICU nurse to join our SICU team. As a Registered Nurse in the SICU, you will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver clinical excellence in patient-centered care, while being empowered through evidence-based practice, continuing education, collaboration, and shared governance to deliver nursing care at the highest level with empathy and kindness in the forefront.
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center. In addition to our Trauma population, post operative care is provided but not limited to; General Surgery, Transplant, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery. Utilizing the latest technologies, nursing staff deliver care to patients requiring ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, targeted temperature management, osmotic therapy, continuous renal replacement therapy, in addition to providing support and comfort to the families of these patients.
This is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of our exceptional preceptors and clinical critical care training programs. After you attend our exceptional Critical care training program we will provide additional training tailored to your interests and educational needs.
A minimum of 2 years ICU experience.
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
2 or more years experience at an acute care hospital. Level I trauma centers perferred.
Experience with transplants, trauma, neurosurgery and general surgery is desired.
American Association of Critical Care Nurses Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN certification) preferred.
Applicants demonstrating a strong interest in the surgical specialty are preferred.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS certification.

The work schedule will be 12-hour shifts. The night shift is 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
You will be asked to cover shifts every 3rd weekend and 6 rotating holidays.
You may be asked to change to a day/night rotation to support the needs of patients in critical care units if necessary.
