About the Job

Position Summary:

Medical assistant who enjoys one on one patient interaction and is passionate about working with seniors. The Center for Healthy Aging is an outpatient clinic for patients 55 and over and has both medical and behavioral clinicians.  Ideal candidate will have a strong interest in and past experience working with seniors, have excellent communication skills and be patient and personable with older patients and their families. Candidate should also be comfortable interacting with patients with behavioral health issues including depression, anxiety and memory loss. Responsible for telephone triage and documentation in the electronic medical record. Will prepare the exam room, room patients, administer immunizations, obtain height, weight and blood pressure, and document med reconciliations accurately into patient's chart. Will also preload prescription refill requests for prescribers in EMR, check MassPat prescription monitoring program for clinicians, enter data into EMR as directed such as PHQ 9 or past medication history & coordinate patient care with other providers and/or facilities. You will be an important part of the team communicating with and assisting the geriatric medicine physician, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and social workers who are part of our growing multidisciplinary clinic. We are looking for someone eager to help others, who is calm, detail oriented, has good follow through, is flexible and has an interest in learning new skills. This candidate will also be trained with other team members to administer an exciting new non invasive treatment for depression called TMS or trans magnetic stimulation as part of a new TMS program.  MA will also track and restock supplies, scan information into EMR, help maintain a community resource file and coordinate operational activities of practice as directed by Office Manager. 

Scheduled Hours

16 hours per week, day shift.   This position is located at Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

Experience with seniors is preferred.

Medical Office experience is preferred.

Certified Medical Assistant preferred. 

Familiarity with EMR or EPIC preferred.

Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
