About the Job
Under the direction from a physician, and within the established practice guidelines for a Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner, is responsible for performing a variety of duties in the evaluation, treatment plan and care, diagnosis and follow-up of assigned patients. May provide preventative, pre-operative and post-operative care.
Job Description: The PA/NP will become part of our EP staff of 6 MD's and 7 AP's and help deliver the highest level of care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include, focus on the outpatient care of the electrophysiology patients who will undergo or have undergone pacemaker/ICD implant, cardioversion, cardiac monitoring, antiarrhythmic drug therapy, endocardial ablation, left atrial appendage closure device implant. Additionally you will also evaluate and trouble-shoot pacemaker and implantable defibrillator devices.
Our EP Department consists of a seasoned, close knit team of 6 Board Certified EP physicians, and 7 Advanced Care Practitioners. The Cardiovascular Medicine Department will see over 46,000 outpatient visits this year.
Schedule: 30 hour/week Position. Days 3 10-hour shift, no nights, no weekends, no holidays, no call.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program. Documentation of registration for or completion of applicable Board certification exam.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Certification and current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
DEA number and Mass Department of Public Health Division of Food and Drug Restricted Substances registration number as appropriate.
ACLs with BLS certification from American Heart Association
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with medical staff , nursing staff, and other clinical and administrative colleagues as well as with patients and their families. Knowledge of clinical procedures and protocols. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and ability to provide appropriate emotional support.
Experience: At least 2 years of directly applicable experience to include direct patient care experience to include in-patient critical care or emergent care
