Do you want to do meaningful work, make a difference and find the support & training it takes to grow as a professional?  Come join our crisis team! Our Emergency Services teams are dedicated individuals who provide crisis intervention to our most vulnerable populations. 

The ideal Triage Mental Health Counselor candidate is energetic, nonjudgmental, works well in teams and is driven to help patients and families in a time of need. Under the direction of the Master’s Level Triage Clinician, you will triage calls and prioritize clinicians and other resources in a high volume fast paced environment. You will also:

Responsibilities;

  • Provide procedural direction and support to crisis clinicians by phone and/or face, as needed
  • Answer phones and provide initial phone assessment
  • Utilizes staffing patterns during shift to maximize response to consumer needs
  • Maintain awareness and monitor activity of active and pending cases
  • Provide assistance to clinicians with bed searches, insurance verifications/authorizations, resource and system knowledge sharing
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and other providers such as hospital emergency rooms to ensure quality of care
  • Act as a conduit for the flow of information regarding programmatic updates and clinical procedural alerts
  • Collect and record data and statistics for various reporting needs of the program, including triage log on computer
  • Provide feedback to Program Director regarding issues affecting shift performance

Qualifications;

  • In addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field, ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, calm demeanor, the ability to adapt to changes in the workplace and to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • The ability to multitask is a must as the majority of your day will be spent answering the phones while keying information into the computer. Strong computer, communication & listening skills are essential.
  • Experience in emergency psychiatric services working with adults, youth and their families, including training in de-escalation strategies and emergency services system of care preferred.

Part Time 24 hours Evenings
