About the Job
Position Summary: Responsible for cleaning residents’ apartments and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting, etc. Responsible for collecting and washing soiled laundry, linens and garments. Presses or irons as needed. Folds, sorts and distributes clean laundry. Also will perform routine maintenance and repair of residence, maintaining physical appearance of the grounds and building as well as ensuring that the building is physically sound and safe. Works with outside contractors as needed.

Weekly Housekeeping Responsibilities – Resident Apartments
Cleans floors including vacuuming, sweeping, damp and/or wet mopping each assigned apartment
Cleans, washes, polishes and sanitizes bathrooms and fixtures
Cleans kitchenette area including cabinets, countertop, sink, refrigerator, microwave, etc.
Cleans and polishes furniture, fixtures, ledges, heating and cooling unit, mirrors, walls, etc.
Discards waste/trash into proper containers and re-lines trash receptacles on a daily basis and discards into residence dumpster
Collect and replace towels twice a week ensuring proper folding and placement of towels are maintained
Housekeeping Responsibilities - Common Areas
Cleans floors including vacuuming, sweeping, damp and/or wet mopping, disinfecting and carpet spot cleaning
Cleans or maintains, washes, polishes and sanitizes bathrooms and fixtures
Cleans and polishes furniture, fixtures, ledges, heating and cooling unit, mirrors, walls, etc. including administrative offices
Cleans windows as necessary
Collects, sorts and washes soiled house laundry and linen
Sorts, tags, washes, dries, folds and irons resident personal laundry
Separates all items that require special stain removal and treatment including house and resident laundry/linens
Folds, sorts and distributes clean house laundry and linens
Irons house laundry and linens
Removes threadbare, stained, or frayed linens from daily circulation
Maintains resident laundry areas in a clean and organized manner
Performs daily cleaning assignment of house laundry area and equipment
Replaces washing chemicals as neededSpecial Projects/Miscellaneous
Performs special projects as assigned
Performs preventative maintenance on all housekeeping equipment
Equipment to Operate to Perform Essential Job Functions:
Performs grounds/landscaping duties as assigned
Performs light maintenance duties as assigned
Responds to resident requests in a timely manner
Maintains infection control standards of practice
In collaboration with the Director of Facilities Management , performs a monthly inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies
Performs similar and other related duties as required
