About the Job

Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant needed to join a newly created team of Advanced Practitioners, House Staff, and Attending Cardiologists to provide care for acute cardiac inpatient population in a teaching facility. Position will initiate and facilitate a comprehensive plan of care for patients undergoing a variety of coronary and peripheral interventional procedures.  He/she will be responsible for the assessment and clinical management of patients with acute and chronic conditions such as angina, acute coronary syndromes, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias. Candidate must be a highly motivated individual who will work in a collaborative manner with physicians and other clinicians, as well as ancillary staff. 

Currently there are part and full time positions available on days, evenings, and nights with rotating or standing weekends. Weekday shifts may include 2-4 hours of outpatient Cardiology clinic. Although plan is to have consistent shift, hours may fluctuate due to variances in staffing (vacations, staff departure, etc).

Qualifications

(must meet one of the two requirements below):

-Nurse Practitioner: Masters degree in Nursing and certification as Acute Care or Adult nurse practitioner. Current state RN licensure in MA, NP in MA, confirmation of Board Certification as a nurse practitioner by a recognized national certifying body that has established standards for nurse practitioners (ANCC, AANP). 

-Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Program. Documentation of registration for next NCCPA Board administration or successful completion of NCCPA Board and maintenance of appropriate CME

Must possess and maintain, or be eligible for, Mass DPH Controlled Substance registration and DEA registration.  

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the advanced practice role and/or clinical/nursing experience on a telemetry floor or cardiac setting with competency in identifying basic and life-threatening arrhythmias.
