About the Job
Coders demonstrate a thorough understanding of the assignment of ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based off physician documentation. They determine the appropriate risk adjustment diagnosis coding capture based of knowledge of the HCC coding model, they identify coding trends, and collect pertinent data that helps to support service reimbursement. They are required to follow CMS and Commercial payer guidelines while having a solid understanding of the American Medical Association (AMA) coding organization. This position is a professional based role that will support providers within the Northeast Physician Hospital Organization.
40 hours per week, day shift.

Associates/Bachelor degree preferred. AHIMA and/or AAPC certification required. Experience with ICD-10-CM, risk adjustment diagnosis coding capture, and Evaluation and Management service coding. Understanding of medical terminology, clinical medicine and human anatomy and physiology. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Must have 2 years Outpatient coding experience.
