Critical Care Nursing at Lahey Hospital

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center utilizes EPIC for computerized charting and medication administration. Computerized self-scheduling is available along with every third weekend rotation.

As Lahey continues to grow, we are seeking experienced and qualified nurses for our Critical Care Units. 

These are:

  • New Neuro ICU
  • New Neuro PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
  • MICU – (Medical Intensive Care Unit)
  • SICU – (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
  • ICU/CCU (Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit)
  • Critical Care - Float Pool ( Every other weekend rotation - additional per hour Float Pool compensation applies)


  • BSN
  • 2 years or more of Neurocritical Care experience at an acute care facility.
  • American Association of Critical Care Nurses Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and/or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse certification(s) preferred.
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification preferred.
  • Preferred: Level 1 trauma hospital and telemetry experience.

  • The work schedule will be 12-hour shifts. The day shift is 7:00 am - 7:30 pm or the night shift is 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
  • We offer 24 HPW (hours per week) or 36 HPW or PD. Benefits vary depending on how many HPW you would work.
  • You will be asked to cover shifts every 3rd weekend (except for float pool - every other weekend) and 6 rotating holidays.
  • You may be asked to change to a day/night rotation to support the needs of patients in critical care units if necessary.
