About the Job

Position Summary:

HVAC Mechanic, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance performs a broad range of duties in building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) operations and maintenance.

Scheduled Hours

The schedule for the position is Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, but must be available to work all shifts as required.

REQUIRED:  a high school diploma or its equivalent; a minimum of five years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of building HVAC systems including building management systems; specific experience in the operation of steam heating systems, HVAC controls, gas- and oil-fired heating systems and boilers, and water treatment and refrigeration systems and hands-on experience in the repair, replacement, and adjustment of their operating components; ability to troubleshoot repairs and install pneumatic and DDC temperature control systems.  Experience with Windows, Word, and email; ability to communicate and interact with vendors and work with customers and other tradespeople to plan and complete tasks; ability to read ladder diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; knowledge of and ability to repair all types of pumps; ability to order parts and materials; and knowledge of environmental rooms.  Must maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, Massachusetts HVAC Technician License, and a universal refrigerant recovery certificate.
