About the Job

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, Primary Care, performs a variety of functions to include:  recruitment for both exempt and non-exempt employees, employee relations, benefits and compensation administration and interpretation of Lahey and applicable policies and practices.  Supports an assigned area of primary care groups and is the first point of contact for HR related matters and questions.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Provides proactive human resources support to assigned work groups in the area of recruiting of candidates both in exempt and non-exempt roles.  With feedback from manager, posts positions and monitors candidate activity. Screens and interviews candidates. Ensures completion of background check and pre-employment requirements.  Through analysis of compensation determines pay ranges for potential hires.  Works with management to arrange the onboarding of new employees.  Develops relationships with school affiliations for externships and flow of future candidates.  Attends job fairs and promotional activity in support of Lahey recruiting efforts.
  • Provides prompt and resolution-oriented approach to resolving employee relations issues done in conjunction with management.  Conducts investigations where necessary and assures the policies and practices of Lahey Health are followed.  Ensures that the formal corrective action process is adhered to.  Conducts all activities prior to termination of employments as appropriate (consultation with supervisor and legal if necessary).  Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Conducts exit interviews.  Answers benefit questions from employees and provides information when needed on current policies and practices.
  • Assists with HR related projects when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree    

Experience:   A minimum of five years of HR Generalist experience or an equivalent.  HR experience should include recruitment, employment law, employee relations, development of programs to support HR initiatives and policies, compensation, and related HR administration, process and compliance.  Working knowledge of FMLA.  Strong computer skills to include office related applications.  Experience with Google preferred.  Working knowledge of HRIS systems, entry and report analysis.  Experience utilizing on line tools for candidate recruitment and assessment.  PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
