About the Job

We are seeking a Speech & Language Pathologist to provide high quality speech therapy services to students with trauma, social and emotional challenges, and issues with social pragmatics in a school based setting. This individual will be responsible to teach and support the active use of individualized compensatory strategies in order to impact access to academics, classroom participation and social skill development. In addition there will be an opportunity to provide consultation to educational staff, clinical staff and parents; conduct informal and formal diagnostic evaluations, assessments and write diagnostic reports.

The Speech and Language Pathologist responsibilities are:

  • Conducting assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills.
  • Developing treatment plans (IEPs) that are strength-based as well as child centered for overall educational improvement.
  • Ensuring evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders.
  • Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement of curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies such as visual supports, oral motor exercises, language strips, topics of conversation, and data collection.
  • Ensuring students’ skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with teaching teams and related service providers.
  • Communicating and coordinating with Education Director to ensure school mission, philosophy, and procedures are embrace.
  • Maintaining appropriate, confidential, records and provide timely reports.

Qualifications:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school of speech language  pathology
  • Have a current Massachusetts license or be qualified for Massachusetts license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

     

         

        Scheduled Hours

        Part Time, 20 hours per week
