About the Job

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Performs preventive maintenance, inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul and construction duties in hospital and 18 off sites which involves general knowledge of crafts, such as plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning, machining, electrical and carpentry.  Functions as electrical technician installing computer and power wiring and jacks etc.  Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB FUNCTIONS

As part of the Winchester Hospital team, this position:

 

  1. Understands operation and maintenance of the energy management systems, air handlers and related equipment.

 

  1. Familiar with all fixed equipment in the hospital and other associated buildings.

 

  1. Working knowledge of the fire alarm system.  Can read the panel and determine location of alarm.

 

  1. Conducts maintenance rounds for hospital off sites to ensure all plant equipment is functioning properly.

 

  1. Maintains and repairs equipment in a satisfactory manner.

 

  1. Conducts facility rounds to ensure areas are in good maintenance condition.

 

  1. Willingness to work additional hours when needed.

 

  1. Is proficient at multiple tasks and working under pressure.

 

  1. Demonstrates a consistent level of performance; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; provides a consistent effort.

 

  1. Participates in the following:
  1. Mandatory training requirements as per hospital/unit policies
  2. Continuing education/in-services to enhance knowledge
  3. Staff meetings
  4. Performance improvement initiatives

      e.    Orientation of new staff, students and/or volunteers

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • High School diploma required.
  • At least three years of experience in general building maintenance. 

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:  None Required.

LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:  None Required.

AGE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Not Applicable.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to drive a car.

2.   Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

3.   Ability to proofread documents and check for accuracy.

4.   Ability to lift 50 pounds and move various machinery and equipment

 

OSHA EXPOSURE:  Job does involve possible exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

 

  • Reports to Construction Manager.
  • Not responsible for supervising the work of others.

40 Hours. Full Time.
