Position Summary:    
 

The Well Being Specialist will support staff, offer prevention and crisis intervention tools informally and formally on a daily basis and promote a culture that understands and recognizes compassion fatigue among caregivers. The Well Being Specialist will also offer support when certain situations arise on an as needed basis.

The Well Being Specialist will possess strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with all ages and generations.  The specialist will be self-directed and have to ability to assess situations and generate plans and goals based on the needs of the employees.

 

As a key member of the Compassion Fatigue Committee, The Well Being Specialist will collaborate with the committee to plan educational and restorative offerings designed to promote resilience and well-being.

 

The specialist will:

  • Work directly with individuals/groups to build relationships and provide support to employees after challenging situations.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership teams by rounding on staff and assisting with debriefing.
  • Identify employees who may have needs related to compassion stress.
  • Serve as a liaison to connect employees with Employee Assistance Program, or other available resources.

20 hours per week, Grant funded, day shift.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:          

  • Bachelor of Social Work required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • Familiarity with PC’s and MS Office software applications.
  • Able to work flexible/variable hours including off shifts and weekends
