About the Job
For the AP Weekend: Friday 5pm to Monday 7am, taking call once every 3-4 weeks. See below for the tasks:
Hold the pager starting 5PM Friday through 7AM monday. On call for all inpatient floor concerns and outpatient calls.
Communicate with team on Friday (sign out on inpatients status). Communicate with MD's over the weekend intermittently.
Round on Saturday AM on all floor/PCU/PACU patients. Discharge, inpatients plans, etc. This is usually Saturday 7AM until 2-4PM depending on volume.
Meet with MD/Resident to run the inpatient list.
Sunday same as Saturday.
Most call overnight can be done remotely, however if there is a change in patient status, patient fall or other need requiring patient assessment the AP may be required to come back to the hospital at any time over the weekend. This is not often, but occasional.
Run the list with the team Monday 7AM.
Send an email to the team with written updates/plans for inpatients by 7AM Monday.
