About the Job




  • Hired prior to 10/1/13:  Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited RN program.
  • Hired on or after 10/1/13:  Bachelors’ degree in Nursing (BSN) or obtain BSN within 5 years of hire

     Preferred: BSN upon hire



    Required: At least 18 months of previous work experience as a perioperative RN


    Other Skills/Knowledge:


  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function in Charge, preceptor and/or project roles
  • Knowledge of hospital practices and safety standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of EMR and other computer applications required
  • For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team




Required: Current license to practice professional nursing from MA Board of Registration

Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty            


LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:  Basic Life Support certification


36 hours - three 12 hour day shifts 7AM-7PM including weekend on call rotation
