About the Job

Beverly Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner to work in the Pre Admission Testing department under the direction of the Chief of Anesthesiology. This provider will perform preoperative history and physical exams for Orthopaedic patients undergoing total joint replacement or spine surgery.  In addition, the Nurse Practitioner will assist in managing post operative medical issues after elective orthopaedic surgery.  The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for communication with surgeons, primary care providers, sub-specialty providers to ensure clearance for surgery and post operative management.  They will review labs and diagnostic tests and facilitate any interventions as indicated.

About our staff:  Consists of 2 NP’s, 2-3 RN’s per day, 1 Administrative Assistant, 2 surgical liaisons and 1 Medical Assistant.

Hours of Operation: 8am – 5pm Monday thru Friday (no weekends or major holidays).  No On-Call responsibilities after hours.


Must be able to provide high quality comprehensive care to our population of patients and be independent to make decisions.

2-5 years of experience in Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or ER medicine with basic knowledge of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Current BLS certification

Current ACLS certification (required for inpatient setting)

Current ANCC or AANP certification in good standing

Current NP license to practice in Massachusetts, DEA registration, and Mass Controlled Substance Registration.
