Coders analyze patient records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based on physician documentation. They determine the appropriate DRG for each case and abstract information that is used to classify patients, define patterns, and collect pertinent data. They are required to follow specific guidelines outlined in the American Hospital Association coding Clinic governing the appropriate assignment of codes. This position is an acute care, inpatient coding position.
40 hours per week, day shift.

Associates/Bachelor degree preferred. RHIA & RHIT desired. CCS required. Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 as well as evaluation and management coding. Understanding of medical terminology, clinical medicine and human anatomy and physiology. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Must have 2 years Inpatient coding experience.
