About the Job

Medication Assisted treatment for opiate dependence  in adults 18+. Vivitrol and Methadone maintenance treatment.


Recovery coaches assist individuals in identifying and overcoming barriers to recovery; connect individuals with recovery support services and encourage hope, optimism and health. Coaches provide support with problem solving and advocacy to assist individuals in meeting their recovery goals and provide education to individuals and family members on the recovery process.


  • 18 years or older and high school diploma required; bachelor degree preferred.
  • Driver’s license and car required.
  • Be a Peer with lived addiction experience.
  • Have at least two years of current, sustained recovery without re-occurrence.

Complete the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) Recovery Coach Academy or the Connecticut Community Addiction Recovery (CCAR) training prior to working with individuals in the ED and within one month of hire.
