About the Job

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission as a member of the hospital’s senior leadership, providing leadership and direction to the Human Resource team and to all hospital leaders to empower and enable them to achieve the Hospital’s success factor goals and their associated initiatives.  This leadership position will have an impact on all aspects of our operations as the key to our success are effective and engaged employees.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • As a member of the Human Resources and leadership teams, this Director position:
  • The Director manages Human Resources services, policies, and programs to provide a high performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, quality and safety, and productivity. Leads the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce to support strategic organizational goals.
  • Provides Human Resources consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, budget, and employee relations.
  • Provides leadership in developing a culture that facilitates high employee engagement enabling superior performance in accordance with the organization’s objectives.
  • Collaborates with other HR colleagues for the effective provision of HR services including, recruiting and staffing; organizational planning; performance management and improvement; employee relations; organizational development; compensation and benefits administration; employee orientation, development, and training; policy development and documentation; employee communication, employee welfare, wellness and health; and employee services and counseling.



  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred



  • At least 6 years at the HR department manager/director level. 
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Expert level of experience in employee relations and recruitment with strong knowledge of benefits, compensation and HRIS functions.
  • Excellent performance improvement/change management experience
  • Healthcare experience with working knowledge of Joint Commission regulations, preferred


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of budget process.
  • Collaborative problem solving and solution finding skills
  • Ability to successfully delegate and manage multiple projects and priorities.
