About the Job
The Pharmacy Technician I supports the mission of the department by ensuring that the right patients receive the right medication in a safe and timely manner and develops a full understanding of the drug distribution operations in their assigned area and demonstrates competency in carrying out all duties associated with medication distribution
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
12) Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment
13) Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards
14) Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities
DAYS, 40 hours per week
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must be a registered technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy or must become registered with the MA Board of Pharmacy after 500 hours of worked hours on the job and prior to 1000 worked hours
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet the requirements of this job description, math skills are required, understands standard pharmaceutical/medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in the prescribing and dispensing of medications, English communication skills oral and written comprehension, knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to handling and distribution of controlled substances and hazardous materials preferred, experience with electronic medical records preferred
Experience: One year experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
