Through this opportunity, you will attend 2.5 weeks of free education (50 hours of classroom and 25 hours of skills) to prepare you to work as a Clinical Associate on an inpatient unit at our hospitals. 

Training will take place under the direction of a nursing assistant trainer, allowing you to learn the essential functions and behaviors to provide patient care support on an inpatient nursing unit. You will have the opportunity to build a new skill set and assume a direct patient care support role at the hospital. 

Qualified applicants will be considered based on current Clinical Associate openings and interviewed by the hiring nurse manager who is responsible for the hiring decision. Schedules and shifts will be determined during the interview process prior to the start of the training program. During training, you will be paid at the trainee hourly rate. Upon successful completion of training you will begin working on the unit as a Clinical Associate. 

Scheduled Hours

Program Length: 2.5 weeks

Program Hours: 50 classroom (9am – 3:30pm) and 25 clinical (7:30am – 2pm) for a total of 75 hours

Upon completion of the program, must be able to work as a Clinical Associate at a part-time (24-32 hrs/wk) or full-time (36-40 hrs/wk) status for a minimum of 18-24 months.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 days from start.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team for safety and quality reasons.
  • Internal applicants must be in good standing and have completed at least 6 months in current position in order to apply.
