Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Surgical Materials Manager, Peri-Operative Services the O.R. Inventory Controller is responsible for the materials management functions in Surgery. Maintains supplies, monitors inventory daily with the closing of materials batch's and the creation and procurement of orders from both the warehouse and outside vendors based on par levels.

Utilization of an automated materials management system, proficiency with Word and Excel documents is an essential function of the job. As is a working knowledge of a case cart system for the delivery of supplies to the O.R. This position provides weekly/ monthly reports on inventory corrections and department issues. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills when working with management, surgical staff, physicians and product vendors. Basic knowledge of creating and updating automated physician preference cards is preferred. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Scheduled Hours

40 hours per week, day shift.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:               High school graduate or equivalent

Graduate of an IAHCSMM Sterile Central — Materials

Management program

Minimum 2 years in a Surgical Materials environment

Certification/License:                 Certified Registered Central Service Technician ( CRCST) or IAHCSMM certificate

Must become CRCST within one year of employment and maintained annually
