About the Job
Reporting directly to the COO/SVP of Home Health and Hospice, with coordination of the Lahey Health at Home Leadership Team, The Executive Director of Hospice and Palliative Care executes the overall strategic direction for all hospice and palliative care operations within Lahey Health at Home. Responsible for providing leadership and direction to clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure consistent and efficient, impactful delivery of hospice and palliative care programs. Ensures achievement of the organization’s hospice and palliative care program objectives, mission and long term operational strategy. Promotes quality in patient care delivery and financial operations in accordance with agency objectives, policies, and procedures within the Hospice and Palliative Care Program. Ensures the agency’s internal policies are consistent with effective leadership and support of the agency’s employees and programs.
Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in MA preferred. Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or Master's degree in Health Care Administration preferred OR at least 5 plus years of successful direct hospice and palliative care management experience. Demonstrated success in program development, growth, and market planning. Multi branch operations a plus. Ability to operationalize strategy in a matrixes environment. Managing through high levels of ambiguity.
Advanced knowledge of Hospice, palliative and end of life topics, programs and operations. Superior business development, operations management and leadership skills. Expertise in developing strategic and tactical plans to meet business objectives in a large integrated health care system. Excellent presentation, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiating skills. Ability to understand the needs of a diverse population and a larger corporate structure. Skills in effectively interacting with internal and external strategic decision makers at all levels. Demonstrated understanding of health care delivery and financing systems. Expertise in managing multiple, conflicting, complex, simultaneous demands in geographically dispersed areas.
