About the Job

Under general supervision of the Budget Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst performs duties related to analysis, distribution and reporting of all budget data. The Senior Financial Analyst's primary responsibilities are to provide accurate reporting from all systems used to accummulate and report budget versus actual data, and  to provide guidance to Health System colleagues regarding the utilization of all healthcare financial data and to educate end users about how to utilize the data. This position requires excellent analytical and verbal communication skills and communication with all levels of management is required.  This position will also be responsible for auditing Position Control data, with close communication with the Health System Finance Business Unit Leads.  Lastly, this position will maintain the Labor Analytics application, with required reporting on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Support the budget office in all aspects of the annual budget, working closely with the management team to assist with data entry into Hyperion Planning as offered through training sessions, assist with data analysis, and the reporting needs of the Senior Executive Team, and develop new reporting as needed or requested.
  • Work collaboratively with Shared Services management team in the review of monthly actual versus budget variances during the fiscal year, as well as assist with the annual budget process.
  • Audit Position Control to ensure Department Budget table reconciles with the HCM data, and work collaboratively with Finance Business Unit Leads on this effort for all areas of the Health System.
  • Maintain Labor Analytics application and complete the bi-weekly submission for all levels of management.  This includes the maintenance of hierarchy structures, loading of data, updating of targets, and distribution of variance reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor Degree

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Basic statistical knowledge
  • Skilled communicator, especially with senior leaders
  • Track record of proven results
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytic skills, ability to understand health data, ability to interpret results, make recommendations and convey the results to multiple audiences.
  • Excellent Organizational skills - ability to manage tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage to tight schedules
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, Microsoft office essential (word, excel, PowerPoint, access)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years progressive analytical healthcare experience required. Experience in healthcare performance improvement, analysis and planning.
