Diet Office Clerk, 19.5 hours

Position Summary:

Responsible for receiving telephone orders, requests for food services and the process for recording diet orders. Processes menus for therapeutic accuracy and batches menus by unit according to production and tray line schedules. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette. The Diet Clerk prepares menus for Leland Psychiatric Unit, Diabetic meals, and respective production tallies for hot foods and Maternity meals. Continuously updates Meditech and keeps a record call log for all communications received. Relays patient changes from Meditech and Nursing staff to the Guest Service Representative responsible for the patient and reports any quality variances to the department manager.

Acts as a liaison between management and staff for updates regarding patient census and patient menus. The position requires working with and assisting other members of Dining Services staff and Hospital staff to ensure that all patients receive prescribed foods, and guests and staff receive requested foods according to hospital and department policy. The Diet Clerk position participates in performance improvement activities. Complies with all regulatory standards and hospital/department policies and procedures. Demonstrates flexibility in response to change. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Seeking applicant with strong customer service and/or call center experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have working knowledge of ipad's.

Education/Experience:

High school graduate or in process of completing degree
Fluent in English (read, write and speak)
Experience in Hospital food service preferred
Knowledge of inpatient medical diet plans preferred

Scheduled Hours

19.5 hours per week, every other weekend required.
