Clinician, Opioid Treatment Program

Responsible for providing direct clinical services to persons with identified substance use disorders. As part of the multidisciplinary treatment team, counsels clients to assist with achieving treatment goals. Completes assessments, treatment and discharge planning and provides adequate and timely clinical documentation.


1. Counsel clients individually and/or in group sessions to assist with meeting treatment goals.

2. Complete adequate and timely clinical documentation including all individual and group treatment notes, intake packets, termination/transfer, billing sheets, insurance forms, etc. in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
3. Understands and complies with confidentiality requirements as defined by 42 CFR Part

4. Maintains current knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorders.

5. Formulate treatment plans based on a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment of the client. Regularly review and update treatment plans based on the client?s clinical needs.

6. Monitor condition of assigned clients to evaluate success in therapy and adapt treatment as necessary.

7. Adhere to all organization policies and procedures and federal and state regulations and contractual obligations.

8. Share responsibility for group treatment programming.

9. Refer clients to other support services such as medication evaluation, social services programs, detoxification, domestic violence services and employment services as needed.

10. Attends and participates in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, monthly all staff meetings and other meetings as requested.

11. Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external providers.

12. Other related duties as assigned.


Master's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitative counseling or a related field with one year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience preferred. Openness to Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorders is essential.

Ability to exercise good judgment clinically, legally, and ethically and to consult with supervisor as needed. Must be computer literate and able to navigate and use standard Microsoft applications.

Scheduled Hours

Full time, 40 hours, salaried position. Mon-Fri (6:00am to 3:30pm)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
