Pharmacy TechnicianJob ID 18-315 Date posted 07/19/2018
Contributes to the Hospital's mission to care, heal and to excel in service to our community by restocking medication, including controlled substances, to patient care units. This clinical staff position will have an impact on improving safety and quality of our patients by keeping the Pyxis medication stations updated to ensure proper and timely medication distribution.
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D
Preferred: At least one year as a certified pharmacy technician
• Basic computer skills
• For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team
Preferred: Experience with Pyxis automated medication system

Required: Pharmacy Technician National Certification and Pharmacy Technician

J. OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Professional Commitment Requirements: Keep abreast of developments in the field and/or licensure through continuing education, participation in professional organizations or a combination of both.
Receives, prepares, fills and delivers medications, floor stock and intravenous solutions to patient care areas,
Maintain Pyxis machines. Creates and maintains drug distribution records.
Excellent customer service and communication skills required. Strong skills in the use of date entry terminals and be comfortable working in a mainframe environment.
Must be organized in daily work and accurate in carrying out tasks.
Schedule requirements: Schedules may vary to meet department needs and hours of operation from 7:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. Staff are expected to rotate weekend shifts
Travel requirements: Expected to travel between off-site locations to make deliveries
